About me
For as long as I can remember, there has always been some kind of animal around me. We have had dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, degus, fish, but I am also no stranger to looking after chickens and poultry. Most of my experience is in cat keeping, I am currently living with a 12 year old British kitten. I also have several dogs in the family that I look after regularly, so I have experience of walking older, large German Shepherds, deaf Border Collies and small pint-sized puppies. It is important to me that the animals feel safe and secure and that they receive the love and care they deserve when their owners are not around.
I adopted my own kitten when he was old, so I have experience in treating kidney disease and allergies.
What I would like to know about the of the dog/pet
I mainly look after cats and dogs, but I am also happy to look after other pets by appointment.
I would always like to know if the animal in my care has/had any permanent/non-permanent illnesses. Does it need to be given any daily supplements or medication.
For cats and dogs:
Do they make friends easily or do they tend to be shy around strangers for long periods of time?
Does he/she play in the morning or evening? (cat)
How many walks a day? When does he need a longer walk? (dog)
Do they tend to run away?
In the case of dog walking, I would like to meet the dog at least twice so that the owner is there and can see that I will get on well with the animal.
In all cases I would like to ask for the contact details of the nearest veterinary practice.
